Mikael D'Haguenet set to chase hat-trick in Slaney

MIKAEL D'HAGUENET, one of trainer Willie Mullins' strong squad of novice hurdlers, will bid to make it three in a row for the season in the Grade 2 Goffs Slaney Novice Hurdle at Naas on Sunday.

The five-year-old turned over hotpot Pandorama in the Grade 1 Barry & Sandra Kelly Memorial Novice Hurdle at Navan last month, winning that three-runner event by seven lengths.

Speaking on Thursday, Mullins said: "Mikael D'Haguenet worked this morning and the plan is to run him on Sunday.

"He won over the trip [2m4f] at Navan, so there should be no worries on that score."

Mikael D'Haguenet is one of ten entries for Sunday's race, declarations for which are made on Friday morning.
