Tent slashed for Betfair and Supreme after win
MY TENT OR YOURS, who was widely cut for the Betfair Hurdle on Friday morning, was an effortless winner of the 2m½f novice hurdle at Huntingdon.
His performance prompted bookmakers into action again with his price tumbling for the William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival with Boylesports making him a 7-1 chance (from 10). He is 10-1 generally.
Trained by Nicky Henderson for JP McManus, My Tent Or Yours was sent off the odds-on favourite to atone for his surprise defeat last time out, when he had travelled powerfully but failed to picked up on the heavy ground at Newbury.
Initially held up towards the rear of the field at Huntingdon, My Tent Or Yours passed his opponents with ease as the runners began their turn out of the back straight and he stormed clear under a tight hold from Tony McCoy.
The six-year-old, who had defeated subsequent Grade 1-winner Taquin Du Seuil on his hurdling debut at Ascot in November, jumped slightly to his left at the final flight but was otherwise perfect over his obstacles.
Prior to his run at Huntingdon, My Tent Or Yours had been cut to a general 6-1 favourite (from 10) for the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury next month. He is now a 9-2 chance for success.
Henderson said: "He needs to settle a lot better but we're hopeful he can make up into a nice horse.
"He's in the Betfair Hurdle, which is one of a number of options."
