Goldikova could sign off career in Hong Kong

GOLDIKOVA could end her career at Hong Kong this season, with the Hong Kong Mile under consideration for the superstar mare who will also be bidding for an unprecedented fourth successive victory in the Breeders' Cup Mile.

Trained by Freddie Head, the six-year-old created history when winning the race for the third year running at Churchill Downs last September, and Head mapped out a similar schedule to last year with the addition of a possible trip to Sha Tin.

Speaking at Meydan, he said:  "She's as well as she's ever been after having a spell at her owner's farm in Normandy.

"She's a six-year-old and is mature - but she's not an old lady yet.

"We will try and run in the same races as last year, starting off in the Prix d'Ispahan and then the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.
One of the big plans is the Jacques le Marois again and the Breeders' Cup.

"If she wins the Breeders' Cup she could go for the Hong Kong Mile as she will not run next year."

Head also had news on 1,000 Guineas hope Moonlight Cloud - as short as 16-1 for the Classic - who will have a prep race for Newmarket in the Prix Imprudence on April 7.

He added: "She has a ton of speed and is a little filly who is very fast. She is the ideal type for Newmarket and we will run her in a prep race in April and decide from there. The Guineas is the plan."
