Red Rocks set to face Big Brown at Monmouth
HAVING floored Curlin on the turf at Belmont, Red Rocks is now gunning for the other superstar of American racing, Big Brown.
The five-year-old, winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf in 2006, is set to run in the $500,000 Monmouth Stakes in New Jersey on Saturday, the 1m1f turf contest being used by Big Brown as a prep for the Breeders' Cup Classic on the all-weather at Santa Anita on October 25.
On his final start for Brian Meehan before joining US-based Mark Hennig, Red Rocks beat Curlin in the Grade 1 Man o'War Stakes.
He was withdrawn from the Sword Dancer Handicap on account of the soft ground.
