Lucy Horner: "it's a pain"
PICTURE: Mark CranhamHorner, who rode at Aintree on Sunday, has beenadvised to take up to three months off to rectify the vision in her right eye.
Horner, an army vet, said: "I got chickenpox when I was in training in the army and I temporarily lost the sight in my right eye. I haven't lost the sight but I have a few problems with it at the moment and I have been strongly advised by a specialist that I can't ride for maybe two or three months.
"Hopefully with some treatment it can be sorted but nothing is definite."
Horner, who has ridden one winner this season and 11 last term, was airlifted to hospital after a heavy fall at Sedgefield in September but escaped without serious injury.
"The fall had nothing to do with it but I did get a kicking in the face that day," she added. "I had a scan yesterday and they found some damage to the eye that they weren't entirely happy with.
"It's a pain. I've had a great time of it riding for Chris Grant and other trainers. Maybe by spring time it might be sorted."
