France: Classic prospect Boldogsag has been retired after it was disclosed she was suffering from tendonitis.
The daughter of Layman was unbeaten in three starts for Pascal Bary last autumn, culminating in a short-head defeat of subsequent Prix Imprudence winner Mashoora in the Group 3 Prix des Reservoirs at Deauville.
"She's back with us on the farm now and we chose King's Best to cover her," confirmed owner Madame Georges Sandor.
One filly who does remain on the trail of the French Guineas is Miss Carmie, who belied her 27-1 starting price when snatching third behind Beauty Parlour in Sunday's Prix de la Grotte.
"She's come out of the race very well and after talking to her owner/breeder [Jan Romel] she's definitely on course for the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches," trainer Sandrine Tarrou said on Wednesday.
"I suppose I wasn't necessarily expecting the result because it was a slightly ambitious project," saidTarrou. "But she had been working well for some time, so I wasn't surprised she ran like she did."
