Uruguayan star Boby Di Job set to join De Kock

Uruguay: Mike de Kock has added another South American Classic winner to his Dubai Carnival string in Boby Di Job, with the dual Classic winner in Uruguay joining star Argentine filly Balada Sale in De Kock's Meydan team.

The three-year-old Brazilian-bred son of Job Di Caroline won five of eight starts in Uruguay, including a streak of four races on dirt.

He just missed out on becoming the first Uruguayan Triple Crown winner since world champion Invasor when finishing second to Dopplavu in the Group 1 Gran Premio Nacional, the Uruguayan Derby, after impressive wire-to-wire wins in both the Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (Uruguayan 2,000 Guineas) and Gran Premio Jockey Club.

De Kock's new South American recruit Boby Di Job comes after being purchased privately by Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani, the fifth son of the current Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The deal was brokered by international agent Nicolas De Watrigan of Mandore International Agency and Uruguayan Bloodstock Consultancy Stud & Haras by way of Pablo Nuñez and Leonardo Ferber.

"There is no confirmed date for his flight to Dubai, but he could depart from Buenos Aires on December 31 along with the Argentine filly Balada Sale," indicated Nuñez from Uruguay. "Both horses will be trained in Dubai by Mike de Kock."
