Mikael heads field of six for Slaney Hurdle

MIKAEL D'HAGUENET, who ended Pandorama's unbeaten run when landing the Grade 1 Barry & Sandra Kelly Memorial Novice Hurdle at Navan last month, will be back in action at Naas on Sunday.

The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old will face five rivals in the Goffs Slaney Novice Hurdle over 2m 4f, the distance over which he beat Pandorama by seven lengths at Navan.

Mikael D'Haguenet, one of his trainers batch of high class novices which also includes dual Grade 1 winner Hurricane Fly and Cousin Vinny, will be bidding to make it three from three this season in the Grade 2 event. Jockey Ruby Walsh takes over from Paul Townend.

His rivals in Sunday's will be fellow dual hurdle winners Clan Tara, Fisher Bridge, The Bishop Looney and Garrai Ard and Western Charmer, winner of a maiden hurdle over Sunday's trip and who ran out at the final hurdle in a 3m novice event won by The Bishop Looney atCork last month.
