Nicholls eyes Wincanton for Zarkandar and Bon
CHAMPION trainer Paul Nicholls could unleash a strong challenge on the Grade 2 Elite Hurdle and Badger Ales Trophy on Saturday with Zarkandar and Michel Le Bon entered for the Wincanton contests.
Nicholls has landed the Badger Ales Trophy for the past two seasons and is keen to let Michel Le Bon take his chance in the 3m1½f handicap.
The Elite Hurdle has also gone the way of Nicholls for two of the past three seasons, both time with Celestial Halo, and Zarkandar could be one of three runners in the race for the trainer, who also has Prospect Wells and Escort'men entered in the 2m handicap.
Nicholls said: "I will have a firmer plan later in the week for the Bagder Ale but this has been the plan for Michel Le Bon since he came back in over the summer.
"As far as the Elite Hurdle is concerned , all three of mine are in good order and we will see how things unfold. There is the possibility that I will run all of them."
