McCoy sweating down for Mr Watson ride
IT has been over two years since Tony McCoy has ridden as light as 10st 3lb, and punters have taken note, with Mr Watson well backed for the 2m1f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (4.10).
McCoy has already sustained two broken teeth and a wound that required 20 stitches when he was unseated by the Jonjo O'Neill-trained six-year-old at Wetherby last November, but is undeterred, with his mount now as short as 9-4 favourite (from 5-1).
McCoy said: "I'm doing it because he has got a bit of a chance. He's punishing me again!"
Elsewhere on Cheltenham's blockbuster Festival Trials day card, Irish Saint is now odds-on for the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial (12.10), while with Tidal Bay out of the Argento, Grands Crus is the favourite at 7-2.
Oscar Whisky holds sway as market leader for the Cleeve Hurdle at 7-4, but there has been some support for Reve De Sivola, now 2-1 in places (from 9-4).
