Montaser popular pick for Cesarewitch
MONTASER, the pick of Pricewise supremo Tom Segal, is proving popular with punters attempting to unravel the Betfred Cesarewitch.
Segal landed the first leg of the autumn double with Bronze Angel in the Cambridgeshire last month and selected David Simcock's runner to go along with ante-post pick, and favourite, Countrywide Flame.
With owner Marwan Koukash withdrawing one of his other runners so Montaser could get in the field, he was advised at 14-1 by Segal but is now a 10-1 chance. Stormy Weather, who was a 40-1 chance this morning, is now as short as 20-1 with Blue Square.
In the Middle Park, Moohaajim is now vying for favouritism at 5-2, having been 3-1, with the unbeaten Reckless Abandon pushed out from 15-8. For the Dewhurst Dawn Approach is the only one wanted, with the favourite now 1-3 with Ladbrokes, though 4-11 generally.
Elsewhere, there is a plethora of non-runners at York, with the going described as soft, heavy in places. At 12.30pm the count was at 40, with every race affected.
