MAN OF IRON, Aidan O'Brien's only winner at the Breeders' Cup, is joining the stable of Luca Cumani.
The deal securing Man Of Iron for a new partnership, Samanda Racing, was completed before Friday's victory at Santa Anita to ensure the spoils were shared between the new owners and the Coolmore team of Derrick Smith, Sue Magnier and Michael Tabor.
He is one of three purchases completed by bloodstock agent Alastair Donald for the owners and will be targeted at the Dubai Carnival, along with Fiery Lad and Drunken Sailor, who were campaigned this year by Ger Lyons and Paul Flynn.
"Man Of Iron will go to the Carnival," said Donald. "We will see how he performs there and he could then be campaigned internationally. It's a new partnership which has four horses to go to the Carnival with."
Donald completed a notable double at Santa Anita, having also overseen the purchase of Muhannakfor Richard Pegum ahead of his success in last year's Breeders' Cup Marathon. Muhannak could finish only fifth this time and will stay in California to join the string of trainer Ben Cecil following his final start for Ralph Beckett.
Also on the move is Radiohead, who has joined Rick Dutrow following his run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
