Maurice Lacroix-Trophy contested by all-German field

THE Group 3 Maurice Lacroix-Trophy has frequently gone to a British raider, but it will not this year with the seven declared runners all trained in Germany.

Nearly British is the Russian-owned Mambo Light, placed in two Newmarket maidens in the spring when trained by Paul Cole but now under the care of Andreas Wohler.

Lautenspielerin, trained by Marion Rotering, and Peter Schiergen's pair, Takhir and Serienhoehe, are all easy winners of their only races, with Andrasch Starke booked for likely favourite Takhir, who seeks to follow up an AugustDusseldorf success.
