Hey Big Spender skews weights for Classic Chase

THE presence of Hey Big Spender in the line-up for Saturday's Betfred Classic Chase means that six of the 14 who are set to go to post for the Grade 3 contest will race from out of the handicap proper.

Hey Big Spender, who is rated 156, will carry top-weight of 11st 12lb in the 3m5f race, which means he will give 10lb and more to his 13 rivals.

Among the six who will race from out of the handicap are leading fancies Major Malarkey and Strongbows Legend.

David Pipe will be doubly represented in the race courtesy of favourite Sona Sasta, who will beridden by Hadden Frost, with Conor O'Farrell taking the ride on stablemate Faasel. Pipe's third entry in the race, Shaking Hands, heads to Catterick on Thursday instead.

Alan King, winner of the race for the last two years, will be represented by Blazing Bailey.
