GUSTO (Richard Hannon/Olivier Peslier) lived up to his name when completing a hat-trick of Listed successes.
The son of Oasis Dream was dropping back from 7f - the distance of his Spring Cup win last time - but travelled smoothly down the centre of the track before coming to win at the furlong pole.
Huma Bird fought back after being headed under Maxime Guyon, but Gusto had enough in reserve to hold on.
"He's a cracking horse and very brave," said Annabelle Hamill-Stewart on behalf of owners Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
"Olivier said he just kept galloping and we'd love to go to the Royal meeting with him, perhaps for the Jersey Stakes."
Huma Bird was demoted to fourth after Guyon was found guilty of interfering with Reech Band.
Another to have been short of room as things tightened up on the rail was the Kevin Ryan-trained Nagham, who ran a decent comeback in fifth, having not been seen since the Weatherbys Super Sprint last July.
