France: Former champion European sprinter Marchand D'Or is back in training but not with Freddie Head, the trainer who led him to top honours in 2008.

The seven-year-old was sent to Mikel Delzangles a week ago from his owner-breeder Carla Giral's Normandy stud, where he was sent after disappointing in three races last year.

Delzangles said on Friday: "Marchand D'Or arrived with me a week ago and we must now see how he comes along in his  training. We have no definite plans for the moment and must hope he returns to his very best form."

Marchand D'Or, a five-time Group 1 winner, completed a hat-trick of Prix Maurice de Gheest wins in 2008 as well as winning the Darley July Cup and re-run of the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp on Arc weekend.
