LOUIS BEUZELIN has left hospital in Barbados after his car crash a fortnight ago, although it will be some time before he is back in the saddle.
Sir Michael Stoute's apprentice, who rode 25 winners in the 2009 Flat season, had his spleen removed and also suffered eight broken ribs and a punctured lung when the Mini he was driving hit a tree and house.
Beuzelin, who is continuing to recuperate at home on the island, has little memory of the accident, but despite his injuries, admitted: "I had a very lucky escape."
The 19-year-old is confident of returning to full fitness, but his plans to ride in Australia this winter have been scrapped, and currently prevented from flying due to the lung damage, he now anticipates remaining in the Caribbean for another two months.
Beuzelin, who was in the wars at Kempton in September when knocked unconscious in a fall, said: "I came out of hospital on Thursday, but I've still got a few issues with the ribs and my back was hurting a little bit yesterday[Saturday]."
