Flemington: Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Group 3) 1m5f, turf, 3yo+
GODOLPHIN continue to be without a win in the Melbourne Cup but Sheikh Mohammed's operation has an excellent record in one of the Flemington carnival's other major staying prizes, the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which it seeks to win again on Saturday with Lost In The Moment.
Having missed the cut for Tuesday's Melbourne Cup - in which Saeed Bin Suroor-trained stablemate Cavalryman finished 12th - Lost In The Moment will be chasing valuable compensation on the track he visited a year ago when sixth in the world's most valuable handicap.
As on that occasion, Kerrin McEvoy partners the recent Newmarket third, who has not won a race since landing a Meydan handicap in January last year.
Bin Suroor said: "Lost In The Moment worked very well on Tuesday and he is ready to run. He ran well at Flemington last year but he is coming up against some good horses and it will be a tough race to win."
Among Lost In The Moment's opponents is the Alain de Royer-Dupre French raider Shahwardi, winner of the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes at Caulfield on his most recent outing. Bendigo Cup winner Puissance De Lune and Group 3 David Jones Cup winner Lightinthenite are other high-profile contenders in the 14-strong field.
Godolphin won the 1m5f event with Hatha Anna in 2001 and Fantastic Love three years later.
