LAST year's Hong Kong Sprint winner Lord Kanaloa (Takayuki Yasuda/Yasunari Iwata) easily won his first race since early December as he prepares for the Grade 1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen.
Lord Kanaloa raced in fifth before striking for home with two furlongs remaining, holding second favourite and last year's winner Majin Prosper by three-quarters of a length. It was his ninth win from 14 starts.
His owner said the five-year-old would not head to Dubai, where he had a nomination for the Dubai Golden Shaheen, but instead compete in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen, in which he finished third last year. Iwata said: "I don't think he'll be beaten this year.
