Long Run and Sprinter among Friday entries

LONG RUN and Sprinter Sacre, ante-post favourites for the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup and Racing Post Arkle, were on Monday among the entries for Friday's card at Newbury after the Grade 2 Betfair Denman Chase and Betfair Super Saturday Chase were reopened.

Defending Gold Cup hero Long Run could face seven rivals, with Burton Port, Medermit, and What A Friend among the opposition in the Denman Chase.

The Super Saturday Chase, registered as the Game Spirit Chase, was won by French Opera last year and he could be joined by exciting novices Sprinter Sacre, Cue Card and Zaynar.

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls, who has won five of the last seven runnings of the race, relies on Hold Fast.
