Lingfield: track had no option but to abandon Wednesday's fixture

LINGFIELD has abandoned its jumps fixture on Wednesday after falling victim to the frost and snow that is sweeping the country.
Following a 2pm inspection on Monday, clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross said the forecasted temperatures has left them with no option but to cancel the meeting.
"The temperatures are predicted to be below freezing tonight. Withtemperatures plummeting to -7C overnight on Tuesday," said Mackenzie Ross.
"During the day on Wednesday they are going to be barely above freezing so we have no choice but to abandon."
