A DECISION on Lightening Pearl, the Cheveley Park Stakes winner, making her reappearance in the 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown on Sunday will be delayed until Friday morning, according to her trainer Ger Lyons.
Lightening Pearl gave Lyons his first win at Group 1 level when scoring at Newmarket in September and speaking on Wednesday he said: "Lightening Pearl is in good form but I'll leave it until close to declaration time on Friday before deciding if she will run.
"It's all about Newmarket on May 6 and if she doesn't on Sunday we will give her a racecourse gallop somewhere instead."
Owned by Pearl Bloodstock Ltd, the daughter of Marju won three of her five races last season and is a 16-1 chance for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas.
