MCR Hurdle card could be subject to inspection
LEOPARDSTOWN will decide on Saturday morning whether to call an inspection early the following day for the seven-race MCR Hurdle card on Sunday.
Although the track was described as raceable on Friday, officials are wary of the threat of sleet and snow, coupled with low temperatures.
Track manager Tom Burke said on Friday:"Our ground today is soft and the track is perfectly raceable. We had a slight frost last night, but we could have raced today.
"There is the chance of sleet or snow showers this evening and temperatures are expected to dropto -2C or -3C tonight.
"We will monitor the situation in the morning and decide whether an inspection will be necessary.
"Temperatures are due to rise to 3C or 4C tomorrow with some frost forecast for Saturday night, although temperatures are expected to rise again on Sunday."
