Lambourn work-rider airlifted to hospital
LAMBOURN work-rider Mark Tierney was flown by Thames Valley and Chiltern air ambulance to Swindon's Great Western Hospital witha suspected broken pelvis following a fall on the Kingsdown all-weather gallop on Monday.
Tierney, 46, has worked for John Hills since the autumn and was previously with William Muir.
Tom Lovell-Stagg, local operations manager for Jockey Club Estates, told racingpost.com: "It is believed that Mark's horse fell and came down on top of him. He was very brave while waiting for the air ambulance."
