TRAINER Phil Gleaves heaped praise on Luis Saez after the jockey produced a masterful ride on Csaba, who grabbed a fourth straight stakes victory in the $100,000 Hal's Hope.
Appearing to struggle off a hot pace down the back straight, Saez continued to encourage the 9-5 favourite before darting up the inside to score by a neck from fellow closer Pool Play.
"I've got to give all the credit to Luis Saez. He's a brilliant rider," Gleaves said. "He's one of the best riders in the country."
Gleaves added Csaba was likely to head next for the $500,000 Donn Handicap (G1) back at the course on February 9.
Elsewhere on the card Italian jockey Cristian Demuro, the younger brother of Dubai World Cup-winning rider Mirco Demuro, gained his first victory on American soil when Holdin Bullets registered a two-length victory in the second race over a mile.
