TRAINER Tom Tate on Thursday revealed his relationship with Jim and Fitri Hay has come to an end - on the eve of Paul Cole's first runner for the high-profile owners in more than a year.
Tate began training for the Hays in 2008 and the owners enjoyed a Group 3 victory in last year 's Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown with Kings Gambit.
Distant Memories was another Group 3 winner in the Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor in 2010 but Tate , who is based in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, revealed his association with the Dubai-based owners has been severed.
"I have enjoyed some special moments training for Jim and Fitri over the last few years, with good horses such as Distant Memories, Kings Gambit and Balcarce Nov," he said in a statement.
"They have moved on, with a concentration on horses with Coolmore and some up-and-coming young trainers in southern establishments, near where they now live.
"I just want to say that I am very much still open for business, especially for local owners who perhaps have felt there was no room for them here before."
The Hays, who also co-own the Aidan O'Brien-trained Fame And Glory, had seven horses who ran under Tate's care this season.
They also have horses with David Simcock, Roger Varian, Peter Chapple-Hyam, Andrew Balding, Stan Moore and Tom Taaffe.
Cole will rejoin the roster when Bluegrass Blues makes his debut under Jamie Spencer in the opening maiden at Newbury on Friday.
It was announced last year Cole would no longer train for the owners - with an incident involving the Hays' Strategic Bid at Newmarket's July meeting believed to have brought about the end of the association.
