Bailey eyeing more Aintree glory with Hunter
KIM BAILEY is no stranger to Grand National success, having saddled Mr Frisk to win the world's most famous race in 1990, and he's confident he has another live contender for this season's Aintree marathon.
The trainer, who was on the mark at last week's Hennessy meeting with the smart Harry Topper, is enjoying a decent season with 18 winners already on the board and has one eye on the National for The Rainbow Hunter.
The eight-year-old signed off last season with victory at Southwell in May and started the current campaign in similar form.
"It was great to see him win a 3m handicap chase at Ascot last month," says Bailey in Tuesday's Trainer File in the Racing & Football Outlook.
The trainer adds: "He jumps well and now the big target in the spring will be the Grand National.
The Rainbow Hunter is rated a 40-1 shot by bet365 to give Bailey a second Grand National success on April 6.
