Nacarat 'A1' for rearranged King George

NACARAT was reported to be in "A1" condition by his trainer Tom George on Wednesday as the grey prepares for the rearranged William Hill King George a week on Saturday.

Owned by Simon Clarke, the ten-year-old started the season with a four-length victory in the Grade 2 Bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby before finishing fourth to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander in the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock.

Nacarat has already shown a liking for the King George course, with three runs at Kempton yielding a win in the 2009 Racing Post Chase, a second 12 months later and a fourth in last year's King George.

Writing on Twitter, George said: "[Vet] Buffy [Shirley-Bevan] came in to treat some of the horses today, including Nacarat, who is A1 for King George! Hoping for very little rain."

Nacarat is as short as 8-1 for the King George with Paddy Power but is a general 12-1 chance behind odds-on favourite Kauto Star.
