Fair Trade too sharp for returning Pearl Swan
Report: Kempton, Friday
BetVictor Cheltenham Festival Antepost "Jumpers' Bumper" National Hunt Flat Race, 2m (AW)
PEARL SWAN, a leading fancy for next month's Betfair Hurdle, found Fair Trade too good for him on his return to action after 315 days off the course.
The Paul Nicholls-trained five-year-old had not been seen since falling at the final flight in last season's Triumph Hurdle and he looked like getting back to winning ways before being reeled in by the race-fit Fair Trade late on.
Fair Trade, a useful performer on the Flat, had finished third behind Poet at Newbury last month and that fitness edge saw him finish best of all to beat Pearl Swan by two and a half lengths at odds of 5-1. There was a further five lengths back from the 5-4 favourite to Ascendant.
