Hannon debutant popular at Newmarket

MIRAAJ, who starts off his career in the 2.30 at Newmarket, has been backed into favouritism on debut for Richard Hannon.

The Andrew Tinkler-owned colt was a general 6-1 chance this morning, but now heads the market at 7-2, and is as short as 3-1 in places.

This evening's meeting at Kempton has also seen a pair of significant moves, with an interesting gamble in the 5.50.

Tyrur Ted, not sighted on a racecourse since 2010 when in Ireland, has his first start for Frank Sheridan. A 33-1 chance earlier, the seven-year-old's price has collapsed to 5-1.

Also at Kempton, the David Simcock-trained Stasio makes his debut in the 7.20 and  is 7-2 from 14-1.
