Kelso: Prospects of racing at the track on Friday look goodPICTURE: Jon Winter
Kelso inspects on Friday
KELSO will stage an 8.30am inspection on Friday, ahead of the track's meeting on the same afternoon.
The course was reported to be "90 per cent there" on Thursday morning as it continues to thaw. At 2.30pm on Thursday Betfair was offering 1.1 about racing going ahead at the track and 3.55 about the meeting being abandoned.
Clerk of the course Anthea Morshead, speaking to racingpost.com, was cautiously optimistic about the prospect of domestic jumps action on Friday.
She said: "We have had a good night and temperatures fell to about 1C overnight. It's about 2C now and it could rise to around 5C today.
"It's 90 per cent there, but the only worry is that we have a forecast of -1C on Thursday night. I would be a lot happier if that was +1C. We have a good chance, though, and we will look at 8.30am on Friday morning."
