Kelso calls inspection for 1pm on Tuesday

KELSO has called an inspection for 1pm on Tuesday ahead of a seven race card on Wednesday after ground conditions failed to improve as much as hoped.

Acting clerk of the course Harriet Graham said: "The frost in the ground has not shifted as much as we would have liked. I'm worried the milder weather won't get here in time.

"It has been raining all morning and we have had 5mm, which is helping, but we have some badly frozen places. Hopefully we will see some improvement tomorrow but may have to inspect again on Wednesday.

"The last two days have not been great for shifting the frost, it has only reached 2C during the day butwe have been down to -2C overnight."
