Oxx bidding for back-to-back Blandford victories

KATIYRA could bid to give John Oxx a second successive victory in Saturday's Irish National Stud Blandford Stakes at the Curragh.

Oxx sent out Four Sins to claim the prize by ashort head from Queen's Best last year and Katiyra arrives fresh from a Listed win last time.

The Oaks third is one of 22 possible runners in the Group 2 with Queen's Best's trainer Sir Michael Stoute entering Heaven Sent.

She is one of six potential British raiders along with the Brian Meehan-trained pair of Changing Skies and Classic Legend, Gull Wing, Sweet Lilly and Bahia Breeze.

The last-named is trained by Rae Guest and she is on course for the race after finishing fourth to Folk Opera in the Prix Jean Romanet.

"She has run in a couple of Group 2s and won a couple of Listed races and Frankie (Dettori) just stole it at Deauville," Guest said.

"She's going to do a bit of work on Wednesday and if the ground's all right, she will probably run."

Aidan O'Brien has his usual strong hand with Adored, Ice Queen, Love To Dance Sail and Mystical Lady while David Wachmancould be triple-handed with Arkadina, Dress Rehearsal and Navajo Moon.

Dermot Weld's Melbourne Cup contender Profound Beauty is entered but she also has an engagement in the Irish St Leger.
