Peter Toole: suffered Aintree fall
PICTURE: GettyToole lost consciousness after exiting the John Smith's Maghull Novices' Chase at the first fence on 100-1 shot Classic Fly and was on Sunday placed on a life-support machine with bleeding on the right side of his brain.
Speaking at 8.30am on Monday morning, Charlie Mann, whose Lambourn yard the conditional is attached to, said: "I spoke to Peter's father about half an hour ago and he's stable.
"Hopefully, they will wake him some time today, but we won't know anything until they bring him out of the coma."
Toole, who has ridden 30 winners this season, had his biggest success on the Mann-trained Fine Parchment in the Greatwood Cup at Newbury last month.
