SECOND favourite Gold Blitz (Naohiro Yoshida/Yuga Kawada) claimed his first Grade 1 when landing the Teio Sho on Wednesday, the dirt championship of the spring season in Japan.
Gold Blitz tracked favourite Espoir City until the home turn when he moved through to take the lead before shooting clear to record a three-and-a-half-length success from Espoir City with Testa Matta third.
Kawada said: "He was relaxed and I could get a good position in the race that was streaming high tempo. After that I only rode him feeling easy. I will do my best with him to win bigger race in autumn."
