Demuro goes one better on Logotype in Satsuki
Report: Japan, Sunday
Nakayama: Satsuki Sho (2,000 Guineas) 1m2f, turf, 3yo
AFTER being beaten into second place by his brother Cristian in last week's Oka Sho (1,000 Guineas), Italian jockey Mirco Demuro landed a Classic of his own when 27-10 favourite Logotype (Tsuyoshi Tanaka) stretched out to beat market rival Epiphaenia in the Satsuki Sho.
Last year's champion two-year-old, Logotype raced in mid-division before being brought with a wide sweeping run off the final turn alongside the runner-up. The pair easily mastered the tiring front-runners as Logotype outfinished his rival to score by a half-length in the 225 million yen (£1.5m) contest.
The time of 1m58.0s for the 2,000 metres was a track record.
