Report: Japan, Sunday
Tokyo: Mainichi Okan (Grade 2) 1m1f, turf, 3yo+
NHK Mile Cup winner Curren Black Hill (Osamu Hirata/Sinichiro Akiyama) struck a blow for the Classic crop as he stretched his unbeaten record to five in this Tenno Sho (Autumn) prep.
He won by a neck over fellow three-year-old Just A Way.
"He has grown up during the summer," said trainer Hirata. "I will be confident of his chances in the Tenno Sho - I'm sure that 2,000 metres is not too long for him."
