Primaeval could miss
Hunt Cup warns trainer

TRAINER James Fanshawe has warned that Royal Hunt Cup favourite Primaeval could miss the race and run in the Buckingham Palace Stakes instead.

The six-year-old, who has won his last two starts, is as short as 8-1 for the 1m handicap a week on Wednesday, which his trainer has won twice with Macadamia in 2003 and Cesare in 2006.

However, Fanshawe believes the 7f Buckingham Palace Stakes two days after the Royal Hunt Cup could offer his runner a better chance of success.

He said: "His form is better over seven and I think he is a better horse over that trip. There's a good chance he'll go for the race on Friday, the Buckingham Palace.

"It's not written in stone and he will be left in the Hunt Cup. He has won over a mile but I think he's better over seven."

Fanshawe is likely to be represented in the Royal Hunt Cup by 10-1 chance Dimension.

"He goes for the Hunt Cup," Fanshawe told At The Races. "He ran really well at Lingfield and was just a bit unlucky. He's a horse I've always liked and felt he would improve with age and for being gelded. "
