BRITISH challenger Conciliatory could only finish fifth behind easy winner La Zona (Wido Neuroth/Jan-Erik Neuroth) in this nine-runner, 500,000 krone event.
Conciliatory, owned by Kirsten Rausing, whose Newmarket-based Lanwades Stud sponsored the race, was settled towards the rear throughout but was caught flat-footed when the pace quickened inside the final three furlongs.
Although the Rae Guest-trained four-year-old stayed on in the final furlong to grab fifth and a share of the prize money, she was beaten nearly twelve-and-a-half lengths by the Norwegian-trained La Zona.

Without Fear (Arnfinn Lund/Frederick Johansson) was simply too good for his eleven rivals, justifying 94-50 favouritism with a four-length defeat of Uppercut Action.
The Norwegian 2,000 Guineas winner was avenging a three-length defeat by Uppercut Action over an extended mile on his only previous run on this dirt track.
He pulled too hard on that occasion but was perfectly settled this time, content to race in the first four throughout as Uppercut Action made the running in search of a ninth straight win.
However, from a long way out nothing was travelling better than Without Fear, who moved up to track the leader three out, with Johansson yet to move a muscle.
Without Fear was sent to the front a furlong from home and soon went clear, winning with his ears pricked.
Milibloom stayed on late to take third, two lengths adrift of the runner-up.
