Longchamp target for Lush Lashes
JIM BOLGER is eyeing a trip to France for Lush Lashes following her battling success in the Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.
Having already landed the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and the rescheduled Yorkshire Oaks at Newmarket, the daughter of Galileo took her Group 1 tally to three when holding off Nahoodh by a neck on Sunday.
The Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp on October 5 is the next port of call for the filly and Bolger reports her to come out of the weekend in top trim.
"Lush Lashes is in good order and all being well, she willnow go for the Prix de l'Opera," said Bolger, who won that particular race with Alexander Goldrun in 2004.
The Coolcullen maestro also had news of Vodafone Derby hero New Approach, who registered his first success since Epsom in the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes at the weekend.
"New Approach has come out of his race well and I will talk to John Ferguson (owner's bloodstock advisor) before making any firm plans.
"He has three possibilities in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the Champion Stakes at Newmarket and the Breeders' Cup Classic.
"Hopefully, the plan is to run in two of those three races."
