Preview: France, Sunday 1.05pm BST (live onATR)

Deauville: Prix de Cabourg (Group 3) 6f, 2yo

KEEP an eye on the highly promising Khawatim (Jean-Claude Rouget/Christophe Soumillon), who bids to complete a hat-trick in the Prix de Cabourg, highlight of the Prix d'Astarte undercard.

Sheikh Hamdan's son of Intikhab made a winning debut at Maisons-Laffitte and then had the same two-length advantage when picking up another race over the course and distance last time.

"He is a very promising colt, an exciting individual with potential and speed," said the Sheikh's racing manager Angus Gold said. "Jean-Claude seems very happy with him - if things work out well he would go on to the Morny."

Cheveley Park Stakes entry Living Art (Xavier Nakkachdji/Gregory Benoist) was supplemented for this after a faultless winning debut at Chantilly, while Katerini (Freddie Head/Davy Bonilla) was runner-up in the Listed Prix Yacowlef at this track.

Deauville-based Pontenuovo (Yves de Nicolay/Stephane Pasquier) ran second in her debut at Maisons-Laffitte but was five lengths clear of the third past the post.

Captain Chop (Didier Guillemin/Flavien Prat) is the most experienced runner in the Cabourg. Since winning his first two, he has finished fourth in both a Listed and Group 3 event.

Desmond Stoneham's selection: Khawatim
