Johns Spirit 5-1 for Cheltenham double
SATURDAY'S big handicap - the Stewart Family Thank You Gold Cup at Cheltenham - will feature a likely field of just 13 following declarations on Thursday morning.
Fourteen horses were declared for the Grade 3 and topweight Champion Court was among them, but he is set to contest Huntingdon's Peterborough Chase on Thursday so is a probable defector.
Paddy Power Gold Cup winner Johns Spirit will also line up and is bidding to complete a double achieved by only Pegwell Bay, Senor El Betrutti and Exotic Dancer.
He is Paddy Power's 5-1 joint-favourite with Colour Squadron, who was second in the Paddy Power.
Tony McCoy partners Colour Squadron, while Robert Thornton is on Cantlow. Peter Buchanan rides Tap Night, JP McManus's third runner in the race.
Friday's meeting at the track also promises to be entertaining with Wonderful Charm and Oscar Whisky clashing in the novice chase.
