Demuro, who was runner-up to Umberto Rispoli in the 2010 title race and is the youngest brother of five-time champion Mirco Demuro, has enjoyed a rapid rise to the the top - he rode his first winner in May, 2009 at Varese on the Bruno Grizzetti-trained Peperita.
The champion's 2011 winners came in quantity rather than quality, is currently riding in the UAE and got off the mark at Meydan on New Year's Eve when partnering Averroes to success for Ernst Oertel - brother Mirco had ridden Averroes to win in the Shergar Cup at Ascot in August for Clive Cox.
Stefano Botti, elder brother of Newmarket trainer Marco, claimed the trainers' title for the second year running.
His remarkable tally of 307 winners has beaten the previous record in Italy, the 283 winners sent out by brothers Alduino and Giuseppe Botti in 2007.
Pisa-based Botti took out his licence during 2009, taking over from his father Alduino, who was champion trainer in Italy on more than 30 occasions.
Botti nominated Crackerjack King's success in the Derby Italiano as the highlight of his 2011 winners.
