Imperial Guest chasing more glory at Ascot
THE admirable Imperial Guest, who landed a valuable handicap at Goodwood two starts ago, bids for another decent pot at Ascot and trainer George Margarson is hopeful of finishing in the money.
It will not be easy for the five-year-old, who is making his 16th start at Ascot, when he faces 15 rivals in the Betfred Challenge Cup at 3.35.
His sole win at the course came when he claimed the scalp of talented sprinter Deacon Blues in a handicap last year and Margarson said: "He is in good nick and seems to have a good draw [ten] and hopefully he can land another big one."
Margarson also runs Excellent Guest in the competitive handicap, which is part of a decent card at Ascot featuring three Group 3s.
Those races, along with the Challenge Cup, are live Channel 4, which will also broadcast Newmarket's two big-prize sales races and a handicap and Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy.
