Hereford calls Thursday morning inspection

HEREFORD will hold an inspection at 8.30am on Thursday prior to its fixture the same day due to heavy rain.

The track has been hit with 15mm of rain since Tuesday night, leaving the going at the course described as heavy with some standing water in places.

However clerk of the course Keith Ottesen was confident that the meeting will take place should the rain stop before the end of Wednesday night.

He said: "We had five millimetres up to six am this morning which changed the going to heavy. We were then forecast a largely clear day but it started raining late morning andwe're now had in excess of ten millimetres on top.

"The rain is due to clear at 9pm, by which time we will have around twenty millimetres but Hereford does drain very quickly so if it does stop raining when it's supposed to weshould be fine."
