Hereford set to race after passing inspection
HEREFORD has passed an 8.30am inspection despite a drop in temperatures on Monday morning and racing is set to go ahead.
Clerk of the course Keith Ottersen said: "We are going to crack on and racing goes ahead. At 5.30am it was -0.5C, by 6.30am it was -1C and at 7.30am it had dropped further to -2C. Temperatures have started to increase and it is currently just above -1C.
"The course is completely covered but we don't want to take them off and let frost into the vulnerable areas so we will see how long we can wait. We will start with the warmer areas of the track. We are calling it soft."
