Heavy going no concern to Olofi in the Ladbroke
HEAVY conditions at Ascot should not inconvenience Olofi as he bids for a second big handicap win in the Ladbroke Hurdle on Saturday according to his trainer Tom George.
More rain has fallen on Ascot overnight and throughout Saturday, leading clerk of the course Chris Stickels to register his concern about the meeting beating the weather.
However, the battle with the elements seems to be turning narrowly in Ascot's favour and racing will go ahead.
Olofi, a 10-1 chance, made a successful winning return at Cheltenham last month when defeating Cash And Go in the Racing Post Hurdle and his trainer Tom George is unconcerned by the going for his runner.
He said: "He seems to get on very well on softer ground running some good races. It doesn't inconvenience him as much as others.
"If you look at his form from last year when he was running behind some good horses he deserves to be where is in the handicap."
In the 1.30 at Ascot Cedre Bleu is 7-5 (from 13-8), while in the 12.55 De La Bech is 3-1 (from 9-2). In the 3.40 Ulck Du Lin is 6-4 (from 13-8) and Vino Girego is 6-1 (from 8).
