TRAINER Richard Hannon thinks King Torus can develop into an "excitingback-end horse" after the son of Oratorio returned to winning ways in a Listed race at Haydock on Saturday.
The Sir Robert Ogden-owned colt was a smart juvenile last year, winning the Group 2 Superlative and Vintage Stakes, but did not reappear until last month when he ran encouringly at York.
He built on that with a neck victory over Questioning on Saturday and could be set for a step up in trip.
"King Torus justified all our hopes atHaydock and it was good to see him come back to something like his smart two-year-old form," Hannon revealed on his website.
"He had run really well on his return at York and the signs at home suggested that he had improved a lot, but it is always nice to see them do it on the racecourse.
"He was certainly impressive over the mile, but Hughesie [jockey Richard Hughes] is adamant that he will be even better when he steps up to ten furlongs and can be dropped in. We will peruse the programme book and find something decent, but he could be an exciting back-end horse."
