Halley back in action over hurdles at Wetherby
HALLEY, a top-level winner over fences in France, returns to action after a year off at Wetherby, which got the go-ahead to race following a morning inspection.
Trained by Tom George, Halley won the Prix Maurice Gillois Grand Steeple-Chase at Auteuil in 2011, but has been lightly campaigned since.
Last seen running back at Auteuil on March 18 last year, the six-year-old contests a novice hurdle at Wetherby under Paddy Brennan.
Among his rivals are smart staying chaser Neptune Equester and Westward Point, who created a good impression when winning at Warwick last time.
Leopardstown's meeting was abandoned on Tuesday, but there is plenty of all-weather action with Southwell, Lingfield and Wolverhampton racing.
