The three-year-old filly pressed pacesetting It's Me Mom through the opening furlongs before quickening decisively with quarter of a mile remaining.

Outsider Pomeroys Pistol grabbed second with the previously unbeaten Roxy Gap nearly six lengths back in third.

"I think she's a special filly," Ward, who also owns the filly, told the Thoroughbred Times.

"She might not have liked the track at Del Mar the only time she got beat."

Winning jockey Rosario added: "She quickened really well and ran hard through the stretch. I never really panicked in the stretch because my filly was running hard the whole way."
